They go by several names. Legal Mediation Services currently and these scumbags called me 2 weeks in a row. Left voicemail on my phone that they were filing 2 felony arrest warrants with Clark County Nevada. The initially had a "Capital Process Services", Last week they called themselves Rapid Legal Services, anyway they claimed they were process servers and went on to tell me they were giving me a courtesy call to let me know felony charges are being filed and not to keep large dogs or children in my home because I will be detained shortly. I never in my life hear of such [***]. Oh they hang up on you when you ask questions they do not want to answer.
I called the law firm next door to where they "claim" that they are doing business (another law office), located in Maine. The woman that answered the phone was very nice and I asked her if the people that had been calling me that claim to be next door to her were legit. She said she's never heard of them. I also had all of their "attorney's" looked up by her in the Maine State bar website and none of them came up as a match. Scammers is all they are. I called back the number again with my new found info and all the sudden the teeth came out with a woman calling me a [***] and go [***] yourself to me. So obviously they aren't too professional. A little preassure and they crack!
COMPLETE FRAUD......HARASS THEM BACK!!! They get so pissed....Made up office and fake Attorney(CASEY RICHARDS) who doesn't exist in Portland, Maine. Guys, all you need is Google to find out how fake this whole scam is, you don't need an attorney. Their ADDRESS doesn't belong to who they say it does, ATTORNEY isnt listed anywhere as practicing in Maine, listen to how dumb and defensive they get when you ask them why!! They will all of a sudden not be able to talk with you, pretend to get offended when pressed for answers and simply hang up on you and not answer your calls anymore. They're more scared of informed people then you should be of them. DO NOT FALL FOR THEM, CALL THEIR BLUFF, THERE IS NO LAWSUIT AGAINST YOU, Have fun with them, they'll try to use legal sounding terms but are uneducated and simple minded people who don't have a clue what they're talking about. Attorney's don't act anything like they do. Have fun with them! They hate getting their own medicine shoved back at them and will even accuse YOU of harrassment! Go figure! What a bunch of Turds.
I received a message on my recorder saying that Direct Processing Services was going to be notifying the District Attorney's office tomorrow for two Felony warrants. I called them, and started my conversation with the fact that what they did was illegal. You cannot leave that kind of message, or a message trying to collect a debt on a recorder. They couldn't tell me who complained, or what the complaints were.
They referred me to the 207-805-9378 Legal Mediation Services in Portland Maine, and said I could discuss it with one of the attorneys. I called, got place on hold and hung up. Called again, placed on hold, called back and was finally put through to an "Attorney" who suggested I get a lawyer. I asked who was filing a complaint, and she told me Advance America. They had some of my information, like the last 4 of my Social, and my address. They said that Advance America had been trying since 2012 to collect, and it had gone to 5 collection agencies. Funny, I never received a single notice from anyone... I asked her for their physical address, which she gave, me, no idea if it is real. After further pressing she told me I could talk to the Judge after my arrest. She could not provide a copy of the check, or any contract when I asked her. I would like to know how you file a warrant for someone's arrest with no proof of a crime.
I called my bank with the dollar amount and date that she gave me to see if someone had possibly hacked my bank account and wrote a bad check. My bank confirmed there has never been an amount for that date, or any other date in the history of my account. I am going to file a complaint with the FTC. Everyone should. These people need to be stopped. Please go to the Federal Trade Commission Website - Here is more information on how to file a complaint.
Report the call. File a complaint with the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA.
