I got three calls like this today, one of which included this number. THREE! The other two numbers were 773-728-8019 and 603-875-6285. I just got my new phone two weeks ago!
They called my cell phone at 12:09p.m. Eastern Time, and when I opted 1, I spoke with Steve and asked how did he get my phone number. He responded that it was a car warranty solution and asked if I have a car. I responded that I don't have a car and wanted to speak with the manager. He didn't even transfer the call and immediately hung up on me. They call me everyday! It's SO annoying!!
I think they get your number if you sign up with those online surveys that are supposed to pay you money. You gotta watch those online surveys - they are just
there to surf and find things they can resell like your phone number or email address.
It is a scam - I got tons of calls from Colleges and Universities too when I signed up. Not sure how they got my cell number though I never give that out.
It's better to not answer than to answer because I have told them to put me on the do not call list, I have told them they are calling a cell phone and using up my minutes and that I would sue them, they just ignore you and hang up quickly. Problem is they call from different numbers. On my phone I have a reject list and so far I have remembered to put 3 of the numbers on there but every time they call form a different one for the same thing...208-665-0749

Just got a call from 208-664-0749. I was unable to answer but when I tried to call back I received a message saying the number wasn't working or had been disconnected. How bizarre!
