Who cares? I mean really? Who cares who it is. I don't know. You don't know. I'd say it's probably someone, from some part of the world trying to steal from you. Forget about it. Don't call it back.
Threatened to shut down computer....Indian male... called back 3 times argument each time told him to stop calling....idiot......caller I'd said Jackson, ca.......
I got a call from this number at 8am and answered because I have work in CA and that's where the call claims to be coming from, if I were thinking clearly I would've remembered that it's 5am their time. Answered to a man with an Indian accent saying "hello my name is....um..John" and told me I had a virus on my PC and he was calling to get help get rid of it. When I asked "what if I don't have a PC?" He hung up.
If you are going to be a telemarketer please be a good one.
When the call came through and Caller ID read "Help, Global" I knew it was scammers, but I decided to have some fun. I put on my "Bewildered Grandpa" voice and started my routine, "You are from Microsoft? That is great sonny, 'cause I have been having problems with my computer. My grandson tells me because I am retired and have lots of money, I should go out and get the best computer I can buy and do all of my banking online. So I did. But whenever I get online I keep getting warnings that I don't have something called an 'anti-virus' installed. Heck, I take all of my medicines when I'm supposed to and I am in great health." [Then I wait ... Then I keep going ...] "Yes, I am sitting at my computer now, and the screen says I am connected to the Internet." [Then I wait ...] "Yes, I see the keyboard. Yes, I am looking at the 'Ctrl' key, but I don't see any WIndows key next to it." Then my killer statement: "Why would there be a Windows key on an Apple computer keyboard?" Gets 'em to hang up every time!
These people keep calling even though I tell them I know what they are doing and to not call me again. This time it showed Jackson, CA and I answered because I have family in this area. Caller had a East Indian accent. I will block this number but I know it does not do any good.
