Who cares? I mean really? Who cares who it is. I don't know. You don't know. I'd say it's probably someone, from some part of the world trying to steal from you. Forget about it. Don't call it back.
This person rang my phone early this a.m. He told me my computer was sending signals to Microsoft and that my computer has a virus. He wanted me to 'guide' me through steps to 'fix' this issue. My computer is brand new! No viruses here! I hung up and rang the store where I bought the computer. Yep, they confirmed it's a scam.
This person called at 10:15 AM this morning and said that there was something wrong with the Windows on my computer. He insisted that he could fix the problem. Told him that we are not doing anything over the phone, twice, but he kept insisting that he could fix the problem. While he kept talking, had to hang up the phone. Knowing that it's a scam.
Three calls to my cell phone in last two days. One was at 6:50 AM!!! I'll take some action on this because (1) frequency and (2) disturbing my sleep. Unacceptable. I have blocked this number. It still takes time to do even that. Annoyed.
Just got the call stating that Microsoft has a refund for me and to go to my computer and fill out a short form so they can send me my refund. I asked how they got my number and he said from Microsoft. I asked how Microsoft got my number when I have never delt with Microsoft. He told me whoever I bought my computer from give it to Microsoft. I asked how Dell whom I bought the computer from got my unlisted number. He said I was wasting his time. I asked if he knew whom he was calling since he got his information from Microsoft. He again said I was wasting his time for he was trying to refund me my money. I told him to first learn how to speak english and that it was he a scumbag scammer wasting my time. The last time they called they told me Microsoft found that I have a virus on my computer and I needed to give him access to my computer so that he could remove the virus. Same thing as now I just kept asking questions until they hang up then I report the phone # to the Public Utility Comm. Secretary of State and the FCC.
Unsolicited phone call came in at 6:52 A.M. before my alarm clock even woke me up! The woman could barely speak English, but she got an earful of "sailor talk" before I hung up.
