I got a call from this number state that he is From Canada Revenue Agency. Said that there is a lawsuit against me of unpaid tax. I ask him why I did not get any warnings. He told that he will send Winnipeg Police in 1 hour to my door with the documents, arrest me, then I will be put in prison for 2 days. He would not discuss the matter with me, only said I owned 4 thousand dollars.
It was really scary, so I called CRA, the agent checked my record, told me I own nothing to CRA. And 5 hours past, no police show up.
Called one of my coworkers and said he owed thousands of dollars that needed to be put on a prepaid card and mailed to them within 24 hours. Called the number myself and he hung up the phone when I asked if this was a scam.
They just called me and told me that I owed thousands of dollars in back taxes he was from the IRS investigation division and that I was going to be arrested tonight and would have to bail out ... for tax evasion and I asked him to tell me my address and where they have been sending stuff and he said that he did not have that info he just had the last 4 of my SS# and that is all he could tell me ... after I continued to call him out he finally said that he was not going to fight with me on a recorded line and I needed to enjoy my life and hung up on me !!
Received fake IRS call - said he was an officer for some weird abbreviation - asking for my lawyer information and he hung up when I called him out on the call being fake
Got a call supposedly from the IRS, saying that I owe money due to some discrepancies in my Tax return for the last three years, asked me to verify my email address and DOB, then asked me for my lawyer’s name.
Thanks for the posts, they were really helpful. Got a call from a supposed "IRS" officer Steve same stuff as other posts. Threatened to arrest me in two hours.
