It's "the IRS" with "a lawsuit" against me. LOL, I love this scam.
At least they've moved on to a ridiculous computer voice rather than "lieutenant Johnson" or whoever the man with the heavy Pakistani accent claimed to be.
***Reminder for everyone: the IRS will NEVER call you. They will send you a letter. Do not fall for this, and never call them back.
I work in Law Enforcement. We had a citizen complain about receiving calls from this number. The caller claimed to be with the IRS and stated they were suing the reporting party.
I called the number back repeatedly and got either dead air, or a fast busy signal.
I ran the number and it appears to be a VOIP, which means the caller can be anywhere in the world.
This is NOT how the IRS does business.
This is a SCAM.
DO NOT give them any personal information.
If in doubt, call your local law enforcement agency, or the IRS at
1-800-829-1040
(you can verify that number at www.irs.gov)
