Message was left on my unlisted fax line. Guess the fax was turned off that day. And yes, said they were the IRS and a suit was being filed on me. I got a laugh from it, saved it for my kids and googled it to see how many complaints there were on the calling number. I would hope we are all smart enough to realize a scam when it pops up, I guess some are not and that is a bad thing....
I received a phone call this morning about 6:30a saying there was a pending IRS lawsuit against me - to call 210-485-5145 caller id show they were calling from 206-701-0285. I called the number that was left and they answered IRS and I asked who I was talking to - I had him spell his name / gave the name of Kevin Abburt. He spoke with an Indian accent..I also asked to speak to someone who spoke better English and was told he spoke English well. I also asked him why he was calling from a call center and he said he was not, but you could hear all the back ground noise. He hung up on me when I told him I would get in touch with the locate IRS to find out what was going on. I also googled the 206-701-0285 which also shows multiple scams being sent from that phone#...I get these calls on a daily bases..being generated from many different numbers. Most of the calls come in for my 84 year old mother, saying you won millions of $$$, new car, trips, etc.
Same as above, but I was called from the number 726-591-6584. I called the 210 number, which comes from San Antonio TX, by the way. It rang once, then hung itself up. I decided then to check the numbers. Glad I did. The IRS does NOT contact anyone by any other method than regular mail. Don't be fooled by the calls, and emails.
Receive a call from this number 721-596-6524 Sint Maarten , They leave a message and stated that their from IRS leave a message that I need to contact them immediate, because they have a law suit for me ? Also told me to call this number 210-485-5145.
Don't go for IRS never call you...... This is the scam, do not give any information from you.
I recieved a call, too, from 210-485-5145. It came in to my Government issued cell phone. Just like you, they told me they had a case against me for unpaid taxes. I gave them the case number I have against them for Fraudulent Practices. Yep. I'm a real live gun and badge toting Senior Criminal Investigator for a rough and tough State Police agency. Can you believe they hung up on me? The call is re-routed via computer, originally 727-599-6524, and it is coming from the town of Uttar Prudesh India. I've referred the case to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. Perhaps they can help. Have a nice day.
