Got a phone call yesterday and today from 210-627-8613. Called it back and it said it was a Verizon number that was no longer in service which is amazing because it called me 15 minutes ago.
Same as others have reported, "Congratulations!! You've been selected to win a free cruise...!"
me: (hanging up)
I don't want to cruise, I don't believe I'll just happily and luckily win one. I do, however, believe someone would like to seel me something for lots and lots of $$.
I get these calls & the ones from the "Geek Squad" - I say "hello" to trigger the computer to send the call to a human, then set the phone down and let them waste their time with "Hello? Hello?" until they hang up. Or if I'm in the mood maybe I jack them around for a minute or two until one of us hangs up on the other. The point is to waste at least a few seconds of their time. If everyone did this maybe it would run up their phone bill and prevent them from processing as many calls per hour.
