Joseph, I'm baffled- your reply to anon employee doesn't match his comments at all. I'm a new employee (an ex ministry teacher & former seminary student, NOT an ex convict) who just looked at the dates (several years old) on all these other comments from those we called & former employees. Perhaps this info was true back then, but if so things have changed & this isn't how things are at Statewide Appeal NOW.
Statewide Appeal is a 'Fundraising' Agency. They DO NOT have affiliating directly with State Troopers, Firefighters, or any other Govt. organisation. They are CONTRACTED by NON-PROFIT groups. Because the groups they have contracts with are NON-PROFITS there is no 'do not call list' that has authority to block them. If you read the terms of the 'do not call list' you are affiliated with, you will see this. By LAW, groups like Statewide Appeal MUST remove you from their calling list, if you SPECIFICALLY ask them to take you off their list. If you get another call after asking them to take you off their list, you have the right to take legal action (or theaten it). You can also write a letter, which may be more affective if you are unable to reach them.
Called soliciting pledge for state troopers. STUPIDLY gave pledge of $20 w/ bank card. How dumb could I be. Realized mistke immeiately, called number on caller ID. Got VM. Left message that I was cancelling my pledge and will be calling my bank to cancel acct. numer
A VERY RUDE MAN NAMED RAYMOND JAMES HAS ASKED FOR MY DAD SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN I ASKED WHAT IT WAS ABOUT, HE SAID THEY HAVE DEALT WITH HIM BEFORE AND HUNG UP ON ME, MAKING IT SOUND LIKE HE WAS A CREDITOR.
I was called several times over a period of months and a message left for an individual that I do not know. The called from a different number 1-877-964-3650 I called back and got a recording that it was not an urgent call. I left a Message as no one answered the call. Under Federal Law I believe that Sequential Dialing that ignores the Do m Not Call List is Illegal it is in my State. The number that they called is my 2nd Phone line know to only a few individuals.
