Calls all the time. Left message about pre-trial intervention. I don't have anything legal/court related going on.
This is a phone scam. They were calling from other cell phone numbers in the San Antonio, Texas area.
When I checked with the telephone company they said it couldn't be traced because it was a cell phone number
but the area code is San Antonio. Be smart, just don't answer the phone.
Received a phone call from Roland Maxwell and spoke with an "investigator" named Brenda Harris. They said they were calling for restitution for Pay Day Loans, LLC. on behalf of the State Attorney Office of San Jose (San Jose is the city I live in- btw, there is no State Attorney Office of San Jose). I don't have a pay day loan at all. It was scary. I've never been scammed before, so it took me by surprise. But, I quickly did my due diligence and discovered this was nothing but a scam. If they've got pertinent info about me, then they could most definitely steal my identity. I called 1 of the 3 credit bureaus and placed an alert on my credit (this lasts 90 days). I also filed a complaint with IC3 (www.IC3.gov)- Internet Crime Complaint Center. You should do the same if you get a call from these folks.
i put 'em on my call reject list. when they call it automatically goes busy, plus I didn't set up a voice mail on my phone so if they would get through, which they won't, but if they do they can't leave a voice mail.
Do what I do. Call 'em back after hours, or on the weekend, and leave some really annoying messages. See what results in that. it works for me. guaranteed love to play games with these moron's.
Calls all the time. I called back after the first time and asked details on my case and they put me on hold. I finally hung up and called back and the guys juggled the phone and then hung up on me. A few days later, got another call so I called and the girl refused to give me any info (because she had none) and got extremely angry when I called her on her [***]. The calls will stop for a little while and then start again for a few days. I am now on the third cycle with the message stating it's a different man's name but yet it's always the same voice leaving the message. Scam.
Got several calls from them same as listed above. I called them just to ask them not to call again. Talked to Sherry Adams and then to Richard Davenport who said he was the senior liaison. I was called stupid and ignorant by Sherry and when I asked her the same thing "are you ignorant" she responded with "not as ignorant as your mother" and then hung up. I called back and asked to speak with the person in charge. I quickly realized that was not going to happen so I decided to have a little fun. I called them back 10 times in a row asking to talk to the person in charge. I never used profanity or raised my voice. On the 9th call Richard told me he didn't "give a f#@% about my complaint" and hung up again. On the tenth call he told me that unless I set up payment arrangements (for the yet unnamed and unmentioned debt they claimed I owed) I was "going to jail today".
