From the times people are getting these calls the folks making them are most likely in some far off country and too stupid to realize what time it will be in the area they are calling. Message left on my phone from this number was about finding out more information about upcoming changes to my credit card. Now I know that is a hoax as the Credit Union that I have my credit card through would never pull a stunt like this. Any upcoming changes, if they happen, are explained via a letter received in the mail. Shame we can't round up all these criminals and put them on a deserted island with no phone communications.
I have marked this call type as Telemarketer; however, it was more than likely a call that ultimately would have tried to get credit card information from me.
Got a call from these folks too. I know how the rest of you guys feel and perhaps I can suggest a solution. If you are willing to pay the price you can stop these calls in the middle of the night and at other times too. Call blocking as it is currently available from service providers is not useful since they only allow you to block about 5-10 numbers. At least that's all AT&T will do. I decided this wasn't good enough and did some research. If you want to spend the money, you can buy a device that will block up to 80 numbers from calling you. It is called a DIGITONE call blocker and it runs about one hundred dollars, and can be purchased from DIGITONE COMMUNICATIONS at 6501 E. Greenway Parkway. This device saved my peace and quiet and will do the same for you.
Received call this AM. [***] on other end wanting to reduce my credit card interest rates. He wanted to know what type of CC I had. I replied none of his business. At this point he bacame hostile and cursing. Being the type of person I am, I let him rave on and then replied, I have an American 870 Express 12gauge with 3 I O U's in it, so where I can I make payment?
