I think they may be testing to see if it is an active number. If you answer, then they know it is an active nmber and they can sell it to any company. I never answer if I do not recognize the number.
My call came at 4:53 a.m. I'm in Tennessee. I cannot tell you how disgusted I am that someone would be so rude as to awaken someone -- actually scare a person nearly to death -- from a deep sleep. All I heard before slamming the phone down was that it was about credit cards. Give me a break! I don't owe anyone anything regarding credit cards.
Received call at 2:48 AM 6/7/12. It said "NEW YORK CALL" so I did not answer and they left no message. Why do we even bother to be on the "Do Not Call List?"
