Hey everyone. Thanks so much. I can't believe I almost fell for this. they called me and couldn't even tell me what ad i had applied for and when i started mentioning ads i had applied for she jumped on the first one and said "That's it". She also took her time in talking to me. She gave me the address 224 west 35th st btwn 7th and 8th ave. And she gave me the call back number of 212-244-4483. I hung up and forgot to ask her something so i called backed and the same girl picked up. I tried to tell her that i just spoke to her and she totally denied it saying that it wasn't the same girl and she had a deeper voice and she didn't even have my name on file. I am so glad i did my research.
I will admit I'm kinda curious to go and see the scam in the works, but at least at that point I'll be 'wasting' my time on purpose. THANK YOU, I had a feeling, but happy to have saved the time. Maybe we should all call 4/7 making prank appointments and not show, a: waste THEIR time and b: make it so less innocent people are taken advantage of... it'd be funny to do at least for one day.
Thanks again.
Scam: World Model Talent 224 W35th St bet. 7th and 8th 2nd floor suite 216
I actually asked if they had any fees and the lady said 'no'...
I just recieved a call from (212) 244-4487
This is the time of year when these slimeballs come out. HS and college kid chasing a dream. I thought is was kind of fishy when the girl on the phone just wanted to schedule me for an appointment. She seemed surpised that I did not want to make the appointment the next day but on Monday at 10am.
I always check these thing out and I am glad I did.
Yes, exactly, thank you! the same number called me yesterday and I made an appointment for today (same address)and I didn´t find that suspicious because I had made about five or six appointments in two days and I couldn´t keep track. But then one very strange thing got my attention - I was just leaving from one other appointment when she called, and the last place I went told me they cannot hire me because I don´t have my Social Security Number (yet) and when I told this "scam-lady" that probably there is no point coming because I don´t have SSN, then she said it´s not a problem. That was suspicious and that´s why I looked this number up from internet.
Thanks again, I am not going there today!!
