Computer Scam-they want you to run TeamViewer so they can get control of your computer and steal information. Max was the callers name. I called him out and hung up on him. He dialed back about three times. I did not answer, so he likely is on to the next person.
Yep, Pakistani with a short easy American name called and told me that they had a report from my computer that it was running slow and was getting a lot of pop-ups. I told him that was a pretty good trick since my computer wasn't on. He said that the report was a week old and I told him that his system must be freakishly good to get a report from a computer that hasn't been on for more than two weeks. Then told him his report was full of s***t and ended the call. Next one gets the whistle treatment.
Just to repeat: THIS IS A SCAM TO LOAD MALWARE ONTO YOUR SYSTEM AND THEN EXTORT MONEY FROM YOU TO FIX IT!!
Don't let them or anyone every access your computer. It is a scam. Said getting a report Im getting pop up ads and would help me eliminate them. Asked how they got my phone # thru my computer.... He couldn't answer. Said have an apple and they hung up.
