Got a call around 8:30 pm telling me that Windows has been receiving error messages from my computer. Went along with him for a while, played dumb so he went to get a "supervisor," and I hung up. Tried calling 212/828-9094==not in service.
Scam!
Repeatedly calls, last call was at 9PM on a Friday night; ID simply says "New York." The caller in a very thick Indian accent tells me my computer has a virus and he wants to help me remove it, etc. This is surprising since I am running antivirus software that reports no problem on a computer that is only 2 weeks old. An internet search shows this is a scam.
Someone named "DAVID" with a very thick accent and bad connection said something about my computer. Asked him to quit calling me at work. Pretty sure its a scam because he hung up when I said that!
