Got a call around 8:30 pm telling me that Windows has been receiving error messages from my computer. Went along with him for a while, played dumb so he went to get a "supervisor," and I hung up. Tried calling 212/828-9094==not in service.
Scam!
Heavy accented male voice asked if I was the main user of the computer. I asked who was calling and he said it was the computer department. Asked the computer department for who? He answered that my computer was generating messages and sending them to windows. He would not answer a single question directly just kept saying that my computer was infected and if I did not accept his help I would be sorry. Know from the start of the call this was fraud, but was curious what lies he was pedaling. So I asked him to prove to me that he was from a legitimate company and all he did was try to scare me that my computer was at risk. Told him that because he could not prove he was from a legitimate company he was a fraud and not to call back. He continued to try scare tactics to get me to give him information as I hung up on him. Worst type of scum.
Got a call from that number. Said he was a Microsoft technician. I knew better. So I went along with him. Ask to do certain things to my computer. I pretended that I have a computer in front of me and to follow his directions. When he asked me what I saw on the screen, I spelled out the letters, STUPID, he asked what I spelled out FOOL. He finally got the hint and hung up.

Scam!
Got this same call several times. Hung up the first few times. Finally this time I played along. When I got bored I asked him if people are actually stupid enough to fall for this scam? No answer, big surprise. I told him not to call again.
