Got a call 5 minutes ago stating that he found my lost credit card. When I asked the dude who he was, he told me I was harrassing him and hung up on me.
It may be an equipment-specific issue - my new telephone/answering machine set has a 'block number' feature. When you see the number on your Caller ID log, choose 'select' and it gives you the option to 'edit' or 'save.' If you click on 'save,' you have the choice of actually saving it or blocking the number ;^) Guess which I chose? From now on, anyone dialing from that number will get a busy signal. I still get one ring and the number appears on my Caller ID log, but at least I know, after one ring, that it's a junk call so I don't drop whatever I'm doing and run to answer the phone - they always seem to call when I'm at a particularly tricky process in a recipe.
And who knows, maybe someday their auto-dialer will get tired of the eternal busy signal . . .
