I received a voicemail with a recorded message that was cut off at the beginning and followed by the message I had 4 allegations against me and authorities would be coming and I needed to contact this number (213-228-5629) from what I've read it sounds like a scam but I'm going to report it to the local police.
IRS scam - deeply accented guy reading a script that says that a IRS random audit has found issues from my 2008-2012 tax filing, and that I owe $4,982 if I handle it now (with a credit card), otherwise there will be $19,000 worth of penalties, they will freeze my bank account within 15-20 minutes, and the local cops will be at my door later today.
He got pissy when I interrupted him to ask a question, and when I said I wanted to handle it without the legal hassles he transferred me to his IRS supervisor.
The 2nd heavily accented liar got pissy when I said my name was John Koskinen, and hung up pretty quickly after that.
I got one this morning. Pre-recorded message stating legal action was going to be taken as against me. The first part was cut off but I'm assuming it is one of those IRS scams.
I received a call from 213-228-5629 stating they were the IRS calling and that I had 4 allegations against me and that if I didn't respond within 24 hours the "cops" would be coming to get me. I knew it was a scam as I had received the same call a few months ago.
