IT'S A SCAM. - They call often from different #s in Michigan. Kalamazoo and Wayne. They tried to give me a 120$ BP gas card if I would just pay the shipping of 9.95$. I told the lady that I heard about this scam and she starting yelling at me that this isn't a scam. They have the last 4 digits of your visa debit or CC, your name and the exp. date. They want you to give them the first twelve digits so they can run up phony transactions. The funny thing was they gave me the last 4 digits of a card I cancelled last month because I thought they had too much info on me. IT'S A SCAM.
These people are relentless... they call 3 or 4 times a day. They will not listen to you. I tried to search on the computer about grant writing for my daughter. She needs to know how to do this for the nonprofits she works for. They call me and ask me how much money I need and what I need it for. They get angry when I tell them I do not want any. They usually hang up on me, but then the next day... it starts all over again!
Just one of the numbers I'm having problems with lately. I signed up for the dnc list way back when i first heard news that telemarketers would be able to call mobile numbers. For a long time, life was good. Now, not so much. I get calls all the time from telemarketers and scammers. I'm careful about giving out my phone number, but it has been given out at least a couple times. Apparently, you can't trust anyone and I'm no longer giving it out. Today, I was called three times by these companies. This happens way too much. If I ignore, I might get an annoying voicemail. If I answer, they just hang up. So tonight this company calls, I answer, they hang up. I call back, ask what is going on, they basically tell me I went to their website to inquire about free government money ([***]). I say that I'll check my computer cache. The lady says goodbye. So then I called back until they answered and my strategy was to feign interest and just stay borderline batshitcrazy. The result is this audio clip which contains the very end of my second call, followed by a phone call that lasts nearly 9 minutes.
