IT'S A SCAM. - They call often from different #s in Michigan. Kalamazoo and Wayne. They tried to give me a 120$ BP gas card if I would just pay the shipping of 9.95$. I told the lady that I heard about this scam and she starting yelling at me that this isn't a scam. They have the last 4 digits of your visa debit or CC, your name and the exp. date. They want you to give them the first twelve digits so they can run up phony transactions. The funny thing was they gave me the last 4 digits of a card I cancelled last month because I thought they had too much info on me. IT'S A SCAM.
They keep calling even after I told them to not call me anymore because they kept calling me at 5 in the morning. They are still calling me and when I pick up they either hang up on me or just sit there with people talking in the background, they are calling me sometimes up to 6 time a day!! This is really getting on my nerves!!
States that I requested grant info. I did not. They have called several times a day for the past several days. Many times I answer and no one responds on the other end. I too am registed with the DNC. I have informed them that I am on the DNC and they hang up on me!
it sounds as if many of you are available to answer your phones throughout the day--I am trying to see what the common thread is here. Are many of you on Soc. Sec. disability/comp? Are you receiving government assistance? I am wondering if your number was picked up via a government website, since this company claims that they are offering grant money and are representing themselves as the "government."
That is a very good point. I have SS desability. I recieved their calls months ago and they called me again today. They called 3 times before I finally answered it. They, like many of you say, claim I applied for some type of gov. grant, and I did not. It really freaks me out to be honest, because I wonder what other info they have on the people they call. I was as polite as I could manage and listened to his speech. He said his name was John and he sounded like he was talking into an electronic machine, and even though the voice sounded normal, it still sounded automated, but it wasn't. Anyway, when I told him I wished to be taken off his list, then listened to his thing, then afterward when I said I still wanted off the list and no part of what they were trying to "give" me (some "free" cd-rom package and all I have to do is pay shipping - yeah right, he hung up on me. He sounded peeved and said something like, "Okay. Thanks. Bye." Why exactly does he get to be ticked? I thought it was convinient he didn't have the date I supposedly signed up for this thing. It's nice to know I'm not the only person experiencing this, though. Good luck to the rest of you.
