Nobody put you as a reference. We have received calls from this number also (as have many others). They are scammers, trying to get personal information out of you. Tell them NOTHING!! If you can, block their number. I reported them to the authorities already, but still keep getting the calls.
I just got the same message. It was a recording of BS. Here is the number they want me to call back (877) 252-0532. This is a scam to scare you so you will send them money. They think all Americans are stupid.
I got same message. Returned call. They said they had "affidavit" re bank fraud -- some alleged payday loan from a couple years ago. The immediately asked for the name and contact info of my attorney so that they could schedule a court date. I said I didn't recognize the debt, but I added that I would be willing to review in further detail if they would send me something in writing. They answered that they would be referring it to one of their attorneys and that I should receive a "subpoena." Seems like they're throwing around meaningless legal sounding terms in an attempt to intimidate. (Legal proceedings in California initiated by a subpoena or by mutually scheduling a court date.)
I received a call from these clowns back on Jan 17th. A pre-recorded voice message; something along the lines of, "We have made numerous attempts to contact you. This involves personal information such as your social security number. We must hear from you today (01/17/13) by 5:00 pm EST.
Got a call this morning from these clowns. Told me they are NOT responsible if anything happens to me. I take that as a threat. Bring baby...I'm waiting.
