Nobody put you as a reference. We have received calls from this number also (as have many others). They are scammers, trying to get personal information out of you. Tell them NOTHING!! If you can, block their number. I reported them to the authorities already, but still keep getting the calls.
This is a scam. They have actually been reported to two specific regulatory agencies who already are aware of who this 'actual' group is.and action is underway.
These people contacted my father before the July 4th holiday. I called them back and spoke with "Emily". She stated that I owed them 1,000 for a "loan" that was taken out in Oct 2012 from a VIP cash. I have no recollection of said company and was REFUSED both VIPs phone number and address. When I asked for their (Callahan's) address she asked "Why do i need it". I informed her that I would like to submit a Validation letter via certified mail. She grew increasingly upset and denied this too by saying "no, there isn't a address", despite me asking several times. To end the call she asked if I was disputing this debt to which I replied "yes, I don't know the company you are referring to." She replied with "Fine, you will not be contacted again".
P.s if you are a resident of CA and you HAPPEN To find a valid address. Feel free to send them the DNR supplied by the CA Department of Corporations which nullifies any attempts to initiate or collect the any debts for said VIP company.

I also received a call from this number claiming a payday loan debt of $3000 and asking for my personal information I have mentioned that I have put all my loans na consolidatehowever I contact my payday consolidator and there was no listings of these people however they asked me to tell them you do not confirm or deny any information
Finally managed an address for them. Sent a certified letter out containing the DnR and order to return written acknowledgement to cease any collections on this invalid debt. Will update.
Strangely enough, when talking to "Anthony Morris", I asked him if M. Callahan & Associates was a part of CMG Recovery. He responded with "I've never heard of that company before"... Yet the BBB and other investigative entities have record of the same addresses, phone numbers and "employee names".
