I also got a TEST call from 1-213-267-8110. Does do not call list mean nothing. I would like phone companies offer a reverse call option. You call me I can add you to my own stop calling list.
Since I had blocked the area code when I received a call from a different 231 number, it was cut off immediately and did not ring in my home. However, it is very annoying that these calls are allowed to get through and since they probably originate overseas as seems to the general opinion, it will be a long time before anything can be done.
had a call to day from this number but it said debt collector for either my brother or my late father. and neither one has any debt especially my late father!!! Sooo annoying these people...and I won't answer the call either!! Just a scam I think.
Call came in on cellphone, not a landline, when answered, nobody responded which indicates a call from a call center so hung up. Was in a business supporting call centers, they have technology called predictive dialers that call numbers and then alert agents of connection so there is always a little pause. The Do Not Call List comes into play only if the caller is caught. Only a matter of time before all cell phones will be called, as land lines are disconnected.
This is just one of the batch of scam calls received today. One of the calls was the card services scam, and so this must be another one of the scam types run by the same group of scammers.
