Called me to say errors on my computer and virus.
The first person then transfers to their "support" person who wants to gain control of the computer to resolve (for a fee if there are issues).
They lead you to view the Windows Event Viewer and use the report of errors and warnings to justify a problem.
If you do not have remote access they try to get you to download a free remote control software package.
beware, I received a phone call from this number from a individual with a foreign accent, he claims to be a representative of Microsoft wanting to access your computer and correct some errors, I have received several phone calls from several numbers of individuals claiming to be Microsoft technicians my response to all of them was to go to hell.
I had the same person call me. I told him I knew it was a scam and to stop calling. A girl at work totally believed them. They had full access to her pc.She bought 3 yrs of pc protection for almost $500!!!
