I just got the same call. When I told the "tech" to remove me from their call list, his response was a very unprofessional "f*** you". Yeah, it's a scam. The accent I picked up was similar to those from a call center my company uses in the Philipines.
answered this time and no answer on the on the other end. I called the number back and verizon tells me that it is a number that is disconnected or no longer in service. These A$$'$ serve no purpose other then to harrass legitimate phone users and homes
Said he was Kevin Smith and worked form a firm of attorneys and private investigators. I knew immediately they are scammers. I told him to get some dulcolax it worked wonders for me to the point where it took the shine off the toilet bowl. He continued and threatened me then I told him my favorite ice cream is strawberry and last week my sink was blocked. After listening to his threats that he'd come get me I asked him if sexually frustrated. He hung up.
I have received such calls. If I feel vindictive and have the time, I keep them on the line for the longest time without giving them any information. I play really, really stupid, asking them to repeat things several times. I try to waste as much of their time as possible before I tell them that I can't do anything more without my Mom's approval and she's not around. I say good bye and hang up. (My mom died four years ago.)
213-271-1644 seems to be calling 2 to 3 times per week. I usually do not pick up. This time I did and said hello. No answer back so I said hello a 2nd time. Another 2 seconds passed and they hung up on their end. Weird.
