I got a call from this no# 312-289-3782 saying they were the dept of legal affairs for the U.S. treasury and they wanted the no# of my attorney to settle the matter. This is a scam all these people are foreigners and this is a scam. I got a similar call from some foreigner about my computer and they wanted some info to help me keep my info safe. There needs to be a gov't dept to deal with this kind of thing.
Some scumbag from India from this number called us today and left a message for my wife on our voice mail. I am an attorney and could smell this scam from the moment the pathetic Indian [***] named Adam Jones breathed the first syllable of his [***] name. How many Adam Jones are there in India? I'm sure that Jones is as common a last name in India as Patel. Come on really? I just keep playing the message back so I can laugh my rear end off. Don't fall for this and what ever you do don't loose any sleep over this. My [***] was quite disappointed when I told him I don't file the taxes for us and that I need him to mail me a bill. He didn't know what to say so I hung up. I hope he calls back so I can play along with him by telling him I will pay it.
We also recieved a call from this woman named Caroline Miller with heavy indian accent. She said she was the department of legal affairs. She said I would have a "big legal mess" on the first voicemail message she left on our line if we didn't call her back. We called the number back, it immediately disconnected. She then called four days later three times. We picked up on third time. We asked her to identify herself - Caroline Miller from the Department of legal Affairs & that enforcement actions were started on our name. We asked what we needed to do... she said call back the number she was calling from & speak with the Legal Officer. We said "why do we have to call back the number you are calling from? this is a phishing scam, we don't believe you" to which she replied "it could be anything, just take this number and call back". She just now called us back again & we told her the police have been notified (which they came out to our house this morning & told us this is definitely a phishing scam & not call the number back & to give the woman the police department's phone number & they would deal with this phisher). Just now we offered the police department's number & told her that her phone number was logged. We started to give her the number & she yelled "shut up, stop threatening me!" & hung up. Don't give this number any information. It is a phishing scam. This number is 559-328-2396 & caller ID reads Avenal, CAT.
