The person says they are with the Treasury Department and if you call them back they try to threaten you with different things. They are definitely foreigners from Central Asia or Middle East.
I just got this call, case #CH76295, told me I had a warrant out for my arrest and an officer is now it's on way to arrest me when I asked for proof. They wanted me to leave work to go pay them right now, i told her I couldn't leave work and she hung up. Said they sent me a letter to my house that I haven't lived in for over 4 years. I want to think if this was true, IRS would cease my bank account, any assets and they would find me with a letter of what I owed. They were also very hard to understand, sounded like they were from India.
Received same kind of call from a woman last Friday. Case # is CH-76295, same # as others that posted here. This must be a class-action criminal law suit for everyone they called. Totally ridiculous. Crazy [***].
I let this one go to voicemail as SCAM phone calls irritate the s*** out of me, but this one had me laughing! What a joke! It's obviously done by amateurs or foreigners (or both) trying their best at the English language with a computerized voice. To the person(s) who put this together, thanks for the laugh and this one "totally" unfolds on you!!
This was a pretty disturbing message, but I figured a scam. I was told I was being sued in a criminal case and I was to call a phone number. I Deleted the message and found this site to report these people.
