They use a reverse directory thats how they get your phone number...and it certainly is a SCAM.....I contacted TD Visa and they have verified this for me...DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO OVER THE PHONE WHEN YOU GET AN UNSOLICITED CALL......I TOLD THEM I WOULD CHECK WITH TD VISA AND HUNG UP...
AND YOU ALL SHOULD DO THE SAME.......
yes, our telephone number gets up to 8 calls a day from this number.
The call leaves blank messages on our main mailbox. Shows it's from California. I just Googled the number to find information, and saw this post.
Someone called from this number this evening. Said that someone here had called about computer problems.
Nobody in my house would call an unknown long distance number for tech issues. Especially since i am the techie in the house on the computer the most and would know about any problems.
I also got a call from this number, but I was left a message on my machine from a man that barely spoke English and couldn't understand a word that was said. I have had this number for a long time and only recently have I been getting calls from the USA. I live in Canada and know no one in the USA. Funny thing is my number is a cell number and it is unlisted. Odd, very odd...
I have the same issue, i am Canadian, this number calls every once in a while, but my number is an unlisted cell number , i never get these calls on my listed home phone.. wtf eh?
