Just got a call from 213-333-3206 claiming the whole "your gonna crash your computer" "using microsoft windows" "sending error reports" stuff. Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Looked up the number and well you know the rest if you are reading this.
Received call from 213-333-3206 saying that I MS Windows had reported a hacker was attempting to break into my computer. I could barely understand the caller who spoke very broken English. I said that I get my Windows Support online, so he told me to get online and he would guide me online so he could identify the hackers and provide the protection I needed to prevent hackers from getting into my system. I said, it sould like you are the hackers; MS does not do business that way. Then I hung up.
I received a call from a guy, claiming to work for Microsoft & said that they were receiving several error reports over the past couple of days. He said that the error reports were indicating that there were malicious files downloaded & they were corrupting my operating system. I asked which computer MAC address, since we have several. His reply was that they do not receive that information, but that it was a computer running Windows 7 & that the report was coming from ___-___-____(my home phone #). Then he said I should press the Windows flag & "R". It makes no sense that they would get an error report from my PC that does NOT a MAC address, but does have a home phone # which is not on my computer anywhere. I asked him to bear with me because I was in the middle of something, but really I jumped on the Web to investigate. He said he would call back in 1 hour, to give me time to finish what I was working on.
When the call from 1-213-333-3206 came thru, I answered. The terrible accent and bad English speaking caller then began: we received several error messages from your computer, so we called to fix it. The caller (a he) then went on to issue directions that he wanted me to follow. Already having been informed about them, I calmly gave him a prognosis of what he was up to and returned a directive for him to try his lack elsewhere. Period!
They called to my work place too. They said nothing. noteven one word.
I'm working at the Computer Repair store.
Too bad ... I really wanted to talk to with them.
Received a call from 2133333206. woman with accent and static on phone stated I had problems with my computer software and system was sending error reports, she wanted me to go to my computer right away and made it sound really serious. I hung up. I am on the do not call list and should not receive these calls.
