I got 14 calls from this number 12 of them were between 8:00 am and 1:30 PM. WTF!!! When we finally answered they said I had applied for a grant online. I did NO such thing. No identification was given. We are going to call the phone company and get it blocked.
I have received several phone calls from this service by a guy named John. He sounds Asian..I have threatened to file a police report regarding this number..The caller states that I have requested grant money on an online site and that is how they obtained my information. I threatened this caller with a police report and he said that he was scared and got a smart attitude. This is a total scam
It's been 48 hours with no calls now. Was it my complaint to the LA BBB, or the fact that I told them I had complained, and that I'm on the Do Not Call registry? Or, just coincidence? Who knows? But, for now, so far, it's quiet.
I got at least 11 calls from this number last night, but I was able to get someone to talk to me. She asked me for my credit card # in order to pay shipping to send me grant info CDs and such. I said, "Wait a minute, I'm going to have to think about this and call you back." They kept calling at least 4 more times, and I told them NOT TO CALL ME ANYMORE!! Then, I found 2 more calls that happened before I got to work this morning at 8:30 AM!! I have filed a report about them with the Better Business Bureau and started the complaint process, as well as updating my registration with donotcall.gov. I'm not sure what else I can do though.
