Called and said they were an auto body shop looking for Adrian. I told them they had the wrong number. She kept trying to ask me questions, like "So you never brought a car in?" I tried asking where they were located and she said they were the west location.
Got a call this afternoon saying they were from Microsoft Technical Services about a problem with my computer. I immediately knew it was a scam but wanted to see what they wanted. They asked if I were aware that for the last several days my computer has been sending out messages. I asked them which computer they are talking about. I said, "I have a work computer and an iPad. Which one?" He said, "You don't have a personal computer?" I do, but I replied, "No, I don't." and they hung up.
The man called from 213-457-0577 saying he was from Geek Squad and that my computer ending with ID# DJ62 was infected with a virus and was sending reports back to who-knows-where, so I politely thanked him and said I would take care of it. Then I hung up and came here to verify my suspicions. The call was a robocall because there was a delay before the caller responded to my answer.
This number called me at 8:15 AM and it said Los Angeles, CA. I never answer calls that I do not recognize and so did not answer. None of my friends call before 9AM, so I know it was not anyone that I know. Tired to death of scammers.
