Did not answer this call. A few months ago, male with an accent had called about a problem with my computer & I almost fell for it. I am a Senior & not too computer literate with a new computer I set up myself. Figured I did something wrong. Anyway, it is a scam to get you to pay them like $500 to fix your computer. They have called since using different number. I cut them off by telling him what he wanted before he could tell me. He hung up. Now, I screen all calls.
First call from this number (at least with this CLID), displays as "L A CTY M T A". (Apparently the caller wants me think they are the Los Angeles city Metropolitan Transit Authority?) It rings as a business, but I have no reason to believe anyone from Los Angeles would be calling me in metro Phoenix. I'm guessing it's a spoofed number. I just don't answer out-of-state calls unless the CLID identifies it as a friend. No message left.
The caller claimed my Computer notified them there is a problem with a foreign person stating they could fix the problem. I never reported any problems to anyone and believe this is a fraudulent company.
male with Indian accent claiming he works for computer technical support and they have received reports from my computer over the Internet. i am so sick of these jackholes calling all the time!
I guess we keep filing complaints at fcc.gov and maybe eventually they'll move on to other scams
Ah - the ole microsoft scam, always a guy with an Indian accent. They tend to spoof numbers, so is impossible to block them. If I can answer the phone fast enough, next time shall avoid speaking any English, in the hopes that I get deleted from their call list. BTW this is the most idiotic scam of all time.
