Did not answer this call. A few months ago, male with an accent had called about a problem with my computer & I almost fell for it. I am a Senior & not too computer literate with a new computer I set up myself. Figured I did something wrong. Anyway, it is a scam to get you to pay them like $500 to fix your computer. They have called since using different number. I cut them off by telling him what he wanted before he could tell me. He hung up. Now, I screen all calls.
This is a scam. They will steal any financial information you have on your computer. If you do online banking, check with your bank immediately and tell them what happened.
Whaaaat? Are you kidding? You just let them in your computer and let them monitor it AFTER an unsolicited phone call. Not smart. Congratulations on your new identity theft and the worst part is you're not even a "victim" you let them in. Stupid.
Got a call from a woman with a thick Middle Eastern accent claiming to be with Windows operating systems. I told her that I knew that this call was a scam and that Windows tech support would not call out for service calls. I also told her to lose my number and not to call again. Then I promptly ran a call trace and reported the call to the authorities.
