Called asking for a "Sherry Campbell" and I advised that they should stop calling me as this has been number 27 in the calls from the same group asking for this unknown to me person. I told them that if they continued calling I would report to the authorities and hung up. The person called me back immediately and said, "Now you can call the police." I politely called him a smart a** and hung up again. Before I could put the phone down, the same person called again and then called back four more times. These people are total a**hats.
Someone with using broken English calling. I have a new phone that I just got last week so not sure how they are getting the number unless its through Verizon. Anyway, the caller ID says "Los Angeles area". Told them they have the wrong number and they keep calling back.
Same as everyone else. This is the 2nd call in 24 hours. First time they told me they were my car insurance company and the 2nd time from the US grants department. I told them I was not interested and they hung up.
Both times it was an indian accent. They must think people are stupid and will fall for this crap still.
I just received a second call from this number, first one I ignored. The guy with a strong accent told me my name address and phone numberm then proceeded to tell me that I was available for a $7,800 grant that I would not have to pay for. He then proceeded to tellme that the money could be put on anything I wanted, bank card, credit card, prepaid card, etc. and that I would not have to pay it back. I let him finish his spiel then told him that I was not interested...he became quite irritated and said to me, you live at....don't you I said yes, was not interested then hung up.
I believe some people fall for this because they don't necessarily have to put the "money" in their checking account they can put it on a xredit card or prepaid card, but what they forget is if they can get that information, they can get your personal information.
