I received a call on my cell phone from these people. I phone alerted me to the fact it was a debt collector. I believe that to be true. Whomever had this number before me must have left a lot a debt with a lot of people, as I get calls all the time. They did not leave a message.
I wish there was a waiting period that the phone companies had to wait before they put these numbers back in the rotation to be used. Maybe that would help those of us who are being harassed unfairly.
I just got a call at my work number. Said she was Peggy from Glass Mountain Capital and wanted to verify my home address before she could speak with me. I asked again who she was, she told me again and then she must verify my home address before she can talk to me about a business matter. I informed her she called my work number and it cannot be used for personal business. I asked if she had my home and/or cell number and she said "why don't you just take my toll free number and call her back at 877-208-9952 x 2616, that way we won't keep missing each other". I have never received a call from these people before today; we haven't been missing each others calls! She also stated my work number would be removed from their records... I'm with "annoyed", I've heard that before too!
I searched them online; I found this message on the BBB website, written from someone within Glass Mountain Capital organization:
FROM: *******@glassmountaincapital.com- "We are a third party accounts receivable collection agency and we do not report to credit bureaus. We are attempting to collect the account on behalf of the owner of said account. Our actions are taken to confirm your identity and not discuss your financial affairs with third parties,"
Debt collectors Glass Mountain Capital collection services stated that her name was Latasha Crawford couldn't understand what she was saying gave me the wrong address and after I informed her that it was not my address she then asked if I use to live at that address she then asked to verify the last four of my social again I answered no she continued she wanted to protect both her privacy and my privacy and gave me four numbers and asked if that was the last four of my social. I asked several times who she was calling for in which Pickles64 stated she is calling about an important business matter. Yet you want to protect privacy I tell you that it is not my address and you don't give me any info but want me to tell you my info. I then informed her that any further contact needs to be made thru U.S. mail and low and behold that same number called again today. Now I'm going to log how many times they call me and after Thursday I'll be seeing what I can do about the harassaing calls beyond three.
