When I answered there was nothing but silience for about 10 seconds or so (sure sign of telemarketer). Just as I was about to hang up a woman with a real heavy accent asked for me by my full legal name but between the accent and background noise it was really hard to understand her so I asked her to repeat herself. At that point I told her it was me but I could barely hear her due to the noise and asked if she could speak a little louder. Then more silence so I simply hung up.
My caller ID said "Home Security." The man on the phone had a heavy accent - India, I think. He claimed to be with a company that works with CL&P (power provider in CT) to reduce rates for customers. There are legitimate companies that do this, but thankfully my caller ID saved me from a scam. He asked me to get a copy of my electricity bill. I told him I wasn't interested and hung up.
I got a call from these people a minute ago at my parents house I am visiting. The guy asked for my father, and when i said he wasn't home asked if i was the mrs. when i said, "they are my parents", he hung up. it sounded like a thick fake indian accent. there was a missed call earlier from this number that came up with a crazy code for the caller id name.
