This number called a few days. Today they claimed to be Amazon Assoc. I asked questions and caught her in lies. This is a scam to collect credit card numbers. They are not associated with Amazon.
Leaving a message here on a public forum does not stop anything. No one here called you.
Invest in a call blocker for your land line. $39 on amazon or ebay.
My call blocker stops all calls from area code 214. Too simple.
On several occasions the phone rang twice and the caller just hung up, no voice mail. For about a week this happened, maybe 4-5 calls in the afternoon mostly. Finally I picked up and a man asked for "Charles." I told him it was the wrong number. A couple of hours later I got a call from the same number, picked up again, and this time a lady asked for "Charles". I asked where she was calling from and she said that "Charles" had been referred to them from Amazon Home Services and explained that it was a service to make people earn money from home. I told her it was the wrong number and she was very nice, apologized and said she would take care of it. If they call me back again I'll post it here for you to know, if they don't call me back, it's because the nice lady really took care of it, so stay tuned.
Its a scammer. When dialed back it says "this # has been disconnected." Amazon isnt stupid enough to so blatantly violate FCC TCPA laws. Believe me they have a team of lawyers making sure they stay compliant and random cold calls would cost them $1,500.00 a call or a multi million dollar class action. These are people who are using spoofed numbers so they cant be found and taken action against. Im positive they hold no surity bond that I could sue them and get a no show judgement. I need some big name legit debt collectors and telemarketers to call my phone 10 times a day for a couple months. Moma needs a new dress. : )
I could use one of these 22 million dollar judgements.
