I was called a few minutes ago and I let the call go to the answering machine as I always do. The message was garbled but I had already guessed it was a spam call. The caller ID came up as wireless caller which was a tip off.
The message clearly began as soon as my answering machine picked up, which meant that the beginning was obscured by my outgoing message. All that was left was "want to speak to certified Microsoft engineers, press 1 now." If I ever pick one of these up by mistake, I've got a great new line for when I'm told that my computer is spreading viruses all over the Internet: "Funny - that's what I heard about your mother last night."
Oh pleeeeeze, add a category "Known Scam." This call wasn't "Unknown" yet it falls under none of the existing categories.
