Here's the answer to all our prayers. I found this on a site I posted a telemarketer's number at. I tried it and it WORKS! I put the tones at the beginning of my phone greeting about three months ago and in the last three weeks have had "ZERO" calls. Whover posted that "THANK YOU, THANKI YOU". Here's what I found:
Telemarketers almost exclusively use autodialers to make their calls. One out of a thousand will have live reps doing the dialing. When these dialers connect (you answer the phone) they first listen for any tones generated. If no tones are detected they then transfer the call to one of the reps in a call center. If the autodialer hears the 3 beeps from dialing a "DISCONNECTED" number, the number that was just dialed is automatically "REMOVED" from their list. Below is a link that has this tone plus the verbal message. You DO NOT need the verbal message. Download or copy the "DISCONNECTED" MP3 or WAV file to your desktop. Create or change the greeting you have when someone calls you and you're not available. At the VERY BEGINNING of your message place the 3 tones (NOT THE VOICE MESSAGE) then continue with your usual or normal greeting. The autodialer will hear the tones and BINGO, your number will be removed since they think it's a disconnected number. DONE. In a few weeks you will be removed from all or most of the lists. Of course you may have to explain the tones to the callers you DO want to speak to but that's a small tradeoff. Pass this info on to anyone you know that gets junk calls or even help post this on these websites. If you continue getting calls after reading this, it's your "OWN" fault! END JUNK CALLS.
I live in North Dakota. They don't even have any dealerships here. I keep getting calls from them and don't have an account with them. Answered once....no one there....just hung up. I always look up numbers that repeatedly call me. Now, I know why they do this so often. They are inconsiderate @$$holes. I am going to put their number into every gay and tranny porn site on the internet. Paybacks are a [***]!
It is a bank, not a car dealer. The dealership could give a crap if you pay the bank, because the bank has already paid them.
When I got my car the loan was with a different bank, but was later bought by Santander. Now I start getting calls if I am one or two days late. I have never been more than 30 days late (which is when it goes on my credit report.)
I am thinking of refinancing or trading in just to end my connection with Santander.
I don't know what they think they are accomplishing by bugging me after only a few days late. If I am late it is because I don't have enough money to pay them yet.
I also received a call from 214-540-2035 on my cell phone. I am on the "Do Not Call" list. Go to this site: https://www.donotcall.gov/ and register your cell or landline number(s). (General info is here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm ) Then you can file a complaint with the Federal government at the same site once your number is registered. However, they are required to stop calling you 31 days from your registration date. That's when you can make a complaint. These people can be severely fined. If we do this, it's the only way they will stop. Unfortunately, it doesn't apply to political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $16,000.
I have even sent e-mails to both major political parties at the beginning of each election year (local, state, and federal), and told them (very sternly) to remove my telephone number and e-mail from their lists and, surprisingly, they have each time.
The do not call list does not apply to creditors who are trying to collect a debt. They do have to follow guidelines as to when they call and what they say, but that is not because of the do not call list. They don't even have to make sure they are calling the right person. They can call anyone they want when collecting a debt.
These guys call my mother/sister and my work number about twice a month...different american names they use but all must be in India, they can not speak English hardly at all. They stole my info or where sold it from some payday loan place years ago. I OWE nothing to a payday loan and have turned them in over and over and over to the FBI and Feds! They are on the awarning list by the BBB under a state by state alret! Give them no monies or more info about your selfs! This is a scam... by law they need to mail you a statement of any bills owed (but that is US postal fraud )! So you will never see that in the mail! Stupid scam... I wish these FELONS would get an honest job! Have no time for them!
