Scam!!! He said his name was Sam Williams Employee ID: AV547 and he provided the 214-717-6789 number. Our caller ID system said it was from a local Hotel and Conference room so I called the hotel while still on the phone with the scammer on the other line to see if they could track this scammer down.
I just got the same call at work, It sounded like scam from the get go and I could barely make out what the guy was saying over the crappy connection. He didn't get a chance to ask my personal info because I couldn't hear most of what he was saying so I asked for a number to call back to and I got 1877 778 3870. I won't be calling back.
Same story.....called and said I won a new Samsung blah blah blah with a $25/month plan, free evenings and weekends and no more access fees. He asked for personal info but only recieved my name and address when he asked fro my credit card info I refused saying I didn't have my cards with me. I asked for a number that I could call back and was given 214-717-6789 and to ask for Will Smith.....hmmm sounds legit for a guy who could hardly speak english...LOL. Never called back and they just called my cell again - smells like some sort of scam to me.
I am using a Bell mobility phone on a corporate plan and got the same $25 offer. He didn't appear to know that my phone was on a corporate plan and tried to say that I was selected for a chance to get a good private plan for $25/month. Then I asked him if it was because Bell upgraded their networks (recently for HSDPA), he didn't appear to know Bell was upgrading their towers. I asked him what phone was offered and he said it was some Samsung 320x.... I said ok, let me go look at the phone specs and asked him for a call back number. He gave me 214-717-6789.
Totally a scam. I'm gonna call him back and ask him for his personal info.
