I got this situation that is long story but I had restriction order over my ex so we are back know so she calls from a 8656696....I have Name I'd from metro PC's...And I told her why you can give me her number she like I can why I asker and she like what it matters is what I feel inside and she said if i give u this number I don't know who's going to stay with it....And she still calls me .....But going by rules she broke law there is a limit to call back to someone that u made ristriction ....Now you guys are confusing me lol.....Jajj..So I might be from Walmart or cuz my saids USC but no are
Same deal. No area code. Has called the last two weeks. They actually left a message for me today. I live in Dallas/Fort Worth area. It was Time Warner Cable calling.
We are investigating this issue at Sprint in the iPhone dept. Today is the first we have heard of this in this group. We got a call and the customer said he received the call from 865-6696 with a garbled message. It does spell they work UNKNOWN on your dial pad as Buck mentioned. We believe this to be b/c the system can not decipher the number these scammers are calling from so it sends out 865-6696 (UNKNOWN). A quick fix for this would be to download a restricted or blocked caller app to avoid getting these calls. This would force them to call you directly and reveal their number. Of course they will not do this so your problem is solved. Long term, I'm not sure if this is something that Sprint or any carrier can "fix". This would probably have to be resolved by the FCC or other related overseer.
For two days straight I have gotten a call from this number. It shows up on my caller ID as 865-6696, with no area code, suggesting it is a local number. But when I dial it back for my area code (985), I get a recording that tells me the number or code I have dialed is incorrect. There never is anyone on the other line and it simply disconnects. I know someone mentioned an iPhone, which is what I have.
I own a Sprint iPhone and started receiving calls from 865-6696 about a week and a half ago. After blocking every area code associated with the number 865-6696, and still receiving calls from this 7 digit number, I finally spoke with someone at Sprint who was able to clue me into the fact that those 7 digits represent the word UNKNOWN.
I'm fairly sure I've had a call show up with the word unknown before, but can't say for certain. Anyway, with this information, I've come to find out there is no way to block it because the call isn't actually coming from 865-6696, but rather an "unknown" or private number. Her suggestion to me: change my number - yeah right!
Also, she told me that some apps sold through the iphone have terms of service which state they can sell your number to third parties so be sure to read those before downloading any new apps.
I also have a Sprint iPhone 4S. I've noticed that if you are on the phone with someone and during the phone conversation you have someone else call in and you put the 1st person on hold to answer the 2nd call and then you finish the phone conversation with the 2nd person and then you hang up (because in my case I keep forgetting I had someone else I was originally talking to and NOT because I'm rude) the phone instead of switching back to the first person your phone will automatically call you back with the 865-6696 and the first person you were talking to will STILL be on the phone unaware that you had hung up in the first place.
