Received a collect call today from this # and it asked for a credit card # stating it was a collect call from my sons friend. It has my sons friend voice on it. I knew he was going to Texas so I thought something was wrong and input my cc # but the system said it was declined which it shouldn't been. Now I am afraid that was a big mistake. Called the number back and answering message that the call couldnt be completed.
I read the comments and its probably a scam. I received the numbers both days on sat. Jul 12th at 3:58pm and Wed. Jul 16th at 7:36pm. I didn't answer either of them because the area code is different than mine and I'm in NY.
My husband called me from this # about a week ago.. He was suppose to b in the valley (sanfernando) I thought it was strange knowing that 214 is not an area code we have out here.. I didn't ask if it was a payphone or not .. But now he is missing in action so I thought I'd do a lil research and I found this web site and reading what every1 on here has to say is crazy and weird as hell... everytime I call I get a busy signal except 4 one time I called and it just rang... no answer...
Claims to be a Paytel collect call from an inmate at Roanoke City Jail. Repeatedly calls all times of day and night, and no way is given to advise it's a wrong number. Seems to be a scam. Sounds like a male saying "Ronald" or something similar in a quiet garbled voice. Caller ID just says it's from Texas.
