Received a collect call today from this # and it asked for a credit card # stating it was a collect call from my sons friend. It has my sons friend voice on it. I knew he was going to Texas so I thought something was wrong and input my cc # but the system said it was declined which it shouldn't been. Now I am afraid that was a big mistake. Called the number back and answering message that the call couldnt be completed.
i received two phone calls from this number. when i answered the second one it was a woman's voice saying something about accepting charges from a collect call from robeson county jail (which is the next county over in nc) buut the number said texas on my caller id. she also said something about my number being blocked from receiving calls from this inmate. and then he said his name but i couldn't make anything out. anyway really weird and really creepy. i just hope it wasn't real.
my aunt has been calling from this number from jail. but she is in North Carolina, in washington county.. i looked it up and its just a company that does collect calls.
my mom called from this number thru verizon calling card and we are in california but it came thru this texas area code. they are calling from a payphone in california
I have an unusual last name & can usually weed out bogus calls if it is mispronounced. Caller used my son's name correctly, said that my son was trying to make a collect call, and asked for a credit card number. I fell for it then some stranger came on the phone. Reported my credit card number as stolen and changed my number. 214-969-5489 ILD COMM was caller id info.
We got a call from this number at 2AM 8/7/08 saying it was an inmate at a county jail with a collect call. We did not accept. My aunt received the same call. She did not accept. My cell received the same call, I did not accept. When I called the number, it was busy or no answer at all. I found out later in the morning that I happen to have a relative who is, in fact, in the county jail 250 miles away trying to call for bail money. But, do be careful, because it feels like a scam...always check first.
