called me a bout a lower interest rate on my visa because I always pay on time and I'm a valued costumer. I DON'T HAVE ANY CREDIT CARDS call didn't end well
Foreign accent and could hear noise in the background of other telemarketers / scam artists talking. he said he was calling from of visa / MasterCard. He knew my first name. This is scary
I screamed goodbye in to the phone and hung up before I let him say anything else
Yeah, got the call today. A middle eastern accent (Indian). They claimed to be from visa offering a lower interest rate. They wanted me to "verify" my identity by giving them my personal information. I didn't!! It's an obvious scam.
Received a call this morning (Sat). Knew my name which was creepy. Said he could see my accounts and that I paid my bills in full each month. Had a heavy accent but was polite, lots of telemarketing noise in background. Said he represented VISA and M/C for all Canadian banks (named them although couldn't pronounce ScotiaBank properly) and wanted to give me 3% on my card for life. I asked for supervisor but he said he was authorized to make the offer. I said no thanks and would get a deal through my bank and hung up.
