Person called me at WORK and told me they were from the bank and we had a serious problem. I have received a number of collection calls at work so I transferred to voice mail for them to leave a message, after which I deleted the message. How do I get them to stop calling me at work and at home?
Send a letter to them, via certified mail, telling them to cease and desist all telephone communication. There are a lot of letters of this nature online. Once they receive it they must stop calling. If they do call again, they are in violation of federal law (FDCPA Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) and can be sued for $1000 per violation.
Your state also will have laws about this. Check with your attorney generals office.

TRYING TO GET OUT OF A BILL BY MAKING YOURSELF LOOK LIKE THE VICTUM IS WORNG AND DISHONEST !!!!! GOD SEES ALL YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOWE ... MAKING FALSE COMPLAINT ABOUT A PERSON TRYING TO MAKE THEM LOSE THEIR JOB JUST TO GET YOURSELF OUT OF A BILL IS UNMORAL AT MOST ...... JUST CALL THE COMPANY TRYING TO COLLECT THE DEBT AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PAY !!!! MOST COMPANIES WILL WORK WITH YOU IF YOU JUST EXPLAIN YOUR STORY !!!!!!!
