I've been getting calls, heavy accent, from the same number, saying they're from "technical support". I knew it was a scam since even a contractor will identify the manufacturer they represent. Out of curiosity, I questioned him.
Q: Why are you calling?
A: About your operating system.
Q: What operating system? What version?
They gave me a wrong answer. I said I don't use that. THEY hung up.
Got a call from this number saying my computer was sending fraudulent information out over the Internet. A very heavy accent, hard to understand, and wouldn't vary from their script. I hung up, they called back right away, twice. Very annoying.
