i have been geeting these calls for weeks! But my phone has tru caller! I can block any # i do not know! And for the most part it tells me when it is a spam call!
i am just starting this cuponing thing, i remember a pop up asking if i put my cell in i woulkld get a free 100. at walmart..... so ya i told the non speaking english guy to bugger off..... its just a trick....
I have been getting calls from this number (12153839751) and i called them back and got the machine saying that i could remove my number from their call list after the beep... no beep. I just said my number anyways and a voice said it would take 24 hours to remove the number. I got a call this morning from the same number. I thought i would see what they had to say. He said was an official employee from Walmart and gave me his name and employee number (John Dmello #81086) and told me he wanted to give me and activation code for my $100 Walmart gift card (af1149). I asked him how i got his "gift card" he said that i have been a good customer with Walmart and in January i made a "good purchase". For one i am not even sure what qualifies as a "good purchase" but i didn't even go to Walmart in January. I shop at Smiths Market place. Anyways, He (with a thick accent, Maybe from India) continued on say that he just needed my card number so he could charge a one time shipping fee of $2.50. Now i am no dummy, I have heard of the scam where they already have all of your information and numbers of your card. The only number they are really looking for is the three digit pin on the back of you credit /debit card. So when he already had most of my information that i had not given to him i started to get suspicious. I have been scammed out of $1000 when i was 16. At 16 that is a lot of money. I have become very aware of the ways people are scamming now days and one good piece of advice is never ever!! give any banking information (all numbers) over the phone if it is a number you have never seen before. 9.99 time out of 10 you are being scammed. I told him i went to look for my visa but i got on my computer and researched the number to see what came up. I found this posting site claiming the same things. There was a lot of inconsistency in the name of the company used but everything else fits. THIS NUMBER IS FROM A SCAMMER!!! DO-NOT GIVE HIM YOUR CARD NUMBER!!! I have now put the number on my reject list and the number has called a least 8 times now. Telemarketers do not have that kind of ability. They have an auto call system to call customers and if they call you back it is usually a different person who you talk with. I have worked the telemarketing world. I hope this will help some one else. I would hate to see someone have their bank account cleaned out, because that's what will happen.
