Man in very broken English (mid-East accent) said he was from Windows technical support and that my computer was sending them warning messages that my IP address had been hijacked and for me to go turn my computer on right now & he would show me. I told him I couldn't get to it and he sounded surprised & said "why". Told him it was all disconnected b/c I was moving it to a new address. Sounds like a scam to me so they could hijack my IP address. Hung up on him.
Broken English...guy said his name was Peter, and i was having computer problems. SCAM!! SCAM!!!! I told him i was reporting him to the local police and not to call here again.
did not recognize - did not pick up - came here first like I always do and got the answer I was looking for. Not only is the caller a scammer they are also spoofers. I called the number back from a land line at work and sure enough - the number is not in service.
This is the call I mentioned in a previous post about another number, in Georgia. The guy (heavily accented) said his name was "Jack." Maybe that was code for "I want money!" I hung up on him.
