I keep getting harrasing phone calls from this number a strange man keeps saying hello than hangs up. Please if u see this number dont answer it . It seems like a scam
Called the number 215-526-6200 because Oxford Law LLC called my wife earlier in the week claiming she owed a debt from 2004. They had to add fees and penalties because they could not find her taking the debt to over $4000.00. Yet they knew where her x husband lived. My wife left a forwarding address in 2004, so why would it take almost 8 years to find her. I called on her behalf because she recently had major surgery. When I got thru to a debt collector (Brian K.) and started asking questions about statue of limitations he abruptly hung up on me. So I proceeded to call Oxford Law LLC back and asked to talk to Brian K. Brian K. threw up in my face about me not being able to find a job and my wife was supporting me. This debt was made way before I knew my wife. He also said it was being recorded so I hope when they play it in Court that his verbal words are not erased because he was very unprofessional.
The first call I got from these sharks was two weeks ago. A guy named 'Anthony'. 'Anthony' tried everything from being my friend to yelling at me because I wouldn't agree to make any payments on anything. Get turned over midsentence to a supervisor "Steve Peterson". Mr. Peterson was trying to be empathetic by telling me that I could have a "hardship agreement" which was 3 payments of $75.00. Then... get this.... that would "prove" to the original creditor ( keep in mind the original company has already written it off by now and sold the debt) that I had "intent to pay" and that they would EMAIL HIM WITH A SETTLEMENT OFFER.
GET REAL.
Never seen hide nor hair of any piece of paper with Oxford Law on it. Ever. Now you want my bank account information?
I told him I don't agree to anything. Send me a paper I can look at and hold in my hand and I'll make a decision. That was 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks, 3 phone calls.... I have been called a liar, yelled at, been threatened with wage garnishment, ( when I have been unemployed for over one year)... when I called back to Mr. Peterson with regard to Anthony's calling me a liar and threatening me he offered NO APOLOGY, No EXPLANATION...I said Well if you think I'm lying about not receiving any paperwork, send me a certified letter. ( if you're going to sue me then you'd get the paltry sum back) He said "No Ms. __ We won't be doing that. Why would we be spending anymore money on you?" Later on I asked "So Mr. Peterson, exactly what information do you have for my employer? Where do I supposedly work?"
Any reputable organization would attempt at this point to verify the accuracy of information, ESPECIALLY if they planned on using it in the near future...
Mr. Petersons reply?
"That's for us to know."
He refused to offer up a name of a company, or date of employment or anything. Despite being pressed multiple times. I have NEVER received ANY paperwork from these guys... and I'm getting pretty sick of being harassed.
I reported them to the BBB the FTC and my states attn generals office.
They will also be receiving a CERTIFIED LETTER stating my belief of their FDCPA infractions and written verification of debt and cease and desist requests.
I would much rather give money to the post office than give these turds one dime.
These people called my father looking for me. They are rude and harrassing. This is the worst company that I have ever encountered. They call continued late into the night and continuously thoroughout the day. When I stated I was unable to pay the amout that he stated, the lawyer told me to borrow the money from someone else .I found this extremely offensive! I have nothing pleasant to say about this company.
call your credit card company and dispute the charge. just tell them you don't recognize it. DO NOT say anything about them calling you or that you gave them your cc info.
