I keep getting harrasing phone calls from this number a strange man keeps saying hello than hangs up. Please if u see this number dont answer it . It seems like a scam
I had a call from Oxford Law Firm in Levittown, PA, from: 251) 526-6200. When I tried to return this call, got a strange recording that it wouldn't go through, so tried the 877)543-6151 x165 number they'd left on my voice mail. The man I spoke to sounded identical to the voice on the message, that said his name was James Bond (seriously??), but now Steve Peterson. The only reason I even engaged in conversation was because he had my full social security number and referring to a debt I had like 6 or 7 years ago. Luckily, I didn't give my address, but he has my grandparent's, so I suppose they'll be harassing their mailbox and my cell phone. Good to know what I'll be looking forward to, guess it's time for a new number anyway...lol
I too have received calls from this "Law Firm" They are extremely rude so what I have been doing is calling them back and talking to them like [***] the same way they call and speak to us. You have to call 215-526-2600 they will answer and if enough of us call and harass them maybe they will think twice about rude calls. I will not be bullied by a bill collector and no one has the right to talk [***] to me over the phone I wish they would show up at my house it would be the last thing they did. They are fraudulent.
I feel so stupid...but I had no idea it was a scam. They knew everything about me so I thought I had to pay my debt from my bank. I gave them my credit card number and all information needed...and let them charge $500.
I just googled them (After paying my debt :( and found out I made a mistake. I just called my bank and deactivated my card. What should I do next? Can anyone please help? How can I get my money back?
Sorry they scammed you. I know how believable and persuasive they are. I also was called. The caller said he was from Oxford Law, introduced his name as Andrew Smith - claims agent. Told me about a debt he wanted to collect own. i ended up speaking to a 2nd person calling himself James Hendricks who said he had authority to reduce the debt in half if i paid right now over the phone. He had my name, ssn and address already. He wanted me to give him my bank account info over the phone but i refused. My gut instincts told me something wasn't right, so i pretended my cell phone power was going out and hung up. They've called me about a dozen times since yesterday but i'm ignoring the calls.
